Our experience

Professional negiligence

• Acting for plaintiffs in a wide range of professional negligence actions against solicitors, accountants and valuers
• Managing the litigation for large groups of private investors against legal advisors and valuers recovering losses in excess of $5 million incurred in private mortgage transactions.

Public liability

• Successfully defending Noosa Shire Council involving in a claim involving a training football field injury
• Defending companies against fraudulent claims including WorkCover, National Marine and Queensland Local Government Mutual Liability Pool (QLGMLP)
• Acting on behalf of rural property owners in Supreme Court proceedings regarding a $1 million claim involving an uninsured vehicle, ensuring proceedings were not pursued against one of our clients

Products liability

• On behalf of a self-insured client, successfully recovering damages in relation to complete slab failure of commercial construction in Cairns in 2006

Personal injury and workers compensation

• Acting on behalf of a hotel group in relation to accidents on hotel sites in North Queensland and the Harvey Bay region, with one of the claims successfully resisted.

• Representing insurer in the Supreme Court in a major death claim as a result of sailing vessel collision. Successfully obtained contribution from other tortfeasors.
