Employees on the net The Internet is a powerful and very useful tool. If you give all your employees desktop Internet access for email and Web surfing, then you are giving them a resource that has the potential to reap enormous business benefits. But it also has enormous potential to be abused and – in some instances – abuse could lead to the company being liable.

No more rough stuff Bullying, violence, harassment and intimidation (collectively referred to throughout this article as "bullying") may lead to court cases. Employers may be liable for what is done by employees. A critical feature of the law is that obligations are often placed on employees to take preventative action.
