Principal Areas of Practice:
Alexis advises clients from various industry sectors including construction, mining, primary industries, education, health and government. In addition to advising clients sponsoring workers and family, Alexis represents clients in the Migration Review Tribunal and the Federal Magistrates Court.
Alexis has several years experience with global law firms during which time she developed strong litigation skills. Alexis represents employers and individuals facing a variety of migration challenges involving many international locations.
Alexis remains at the forefront of legislation change continuing her roles as Migration Law Reporter for the Federal Court Reports published by Thomson Law Book Company. In the past, she has enjoyed working as Course Co-ordinator in the Graduate Certificate of Australian Migration Law and Practice with Griffith University.
Experience
- Representing a significant number of fishing enterprises around Australia sponsoring overseas workers.
- Representing one of Australia's largest mining companies in securing visas for engineers from South Africa and Zimbabwe. These matters also involved an application for each family as well as conducting health checks and overseas police clearances.
- Advising business owners and their families wishing to immigrate from various European countries to Australia. These matters involved applicants who were very successful business operators in Europe and who had special issues involving dependent relatives.
