Experience
John has held the appointment of Assistant to the Chairman, Thiess
Holdings Limited. He has also been employed as Commercial Director of
Peabody Australia Pty Ltd, Assistant Managing Director of Thiess Peabody
Mitsui Coal Pty Ltd and Managing Director of Peabody Coal Pty Ltd.
John served in the Royal Australian Naval Reserve for many years,
culminating in appointment as Commanding Officer (Reserves), Brisbane
Port Division.
His experience includes:
- Banking and finance law and practice, capital formation
- Negotiating and documenting a wide range of commercial arrangements
across the spectrum of business activity
- Mining projects, including acquisition of title, exploration,
marshalling participants, project construction, commissioning and
production
- Representing mining interests in the settlement of Native Title
claims in the Federal Court
- Negotiating and documenting subdivisional and shopping centre
projects.
